Newnham College Boat Club is a women’s boat club at the heart of the University of Cambridge. We were founded in 1893 and have pioneered women’s rowing at this university. Over 100 years later we are still going strong.

We are the oldest and most successful women’s boat club in town and look back on a proud tradition. Our rowers have gone on to compete in national and international regattas with phenomenal success - most recently Anna Watkins with Gold at the London Olympics!

We race throughout the year both on and off-Cam (including racing WEHoRR on the Thames). However our main focus is the Bumps Races at the end of Lent and Easter Terms. Our boats have been very successful over the past few years and are among the top 1st and 2nd crews.

We are always keen to welcome new rowers. Regardless of your level of experience, Newnham College Boat Club can offer you excellent training, the opportunity to meet many new people, and a busy calendar of social events.

Please have a look around our website to meet the people in the Club, read some recent race reviews and find out more about rowing with us.
